This is based on an article found at Inc. titled The Good, the Bad, and the Just Plain Weird of How Coffee Affects Your Psychology
The Yolk
- Coffee’s positive effects
- Increases alertness
- Better problem solving
- Better memory
- Decreased cognitive decline
- Quicker at tracking objects
- Even five cups a day is fine (a cup is 8 ounces)
- Coffee’s negative effects
- Drinking coffee later in the day messes with sleep
- Increases anxiety if drank before a presentation or event
- No effect on creativeness
- Bad for budget – people bought more shopping after having coffee
- Hard to quit if desired
Perspective
- The original title isn’t accurate because we are talking more about physiological effects – except for the shopping part
- No need to change coffee habits unless:
- If you want to stop drinking coffee – do it slowly, one half cup less each two days perhaps
- Drink coffee at home more
